Tomorrow, tomorrow, just not today... Some projects take longer than others, and some are never-ending. Why? Nobody knows for sure. But in the end, it doesn't matter WHY. More importantly, it has to change.

These practical tips from my 20 years of experience as a tutor and coach will help.

  1. Do your job IMMEDIATELY, and you save the rest of your tips! Start now!
  2. Define your priorities. If the task is not essential, don't do it!
  3. Get somebody to chaperone, push, kick butt... And then do it!
  4. Who suffers if you don't complete the task? It is best to look for someone close to you who is suffering. And make her happy!
  5. Find two more projects to increase the pressure in the boiler. And then do it!
  6. Organize something for the day of your deadline, a follow-up project, a trip, a big trip, an event, a big party, something great. Tell everyone about it. And then do it!
  7. Look for a book as a guide on how to complete this task more quickly. And then do it! The thesis ABC helps e.g.
  8. Make a sport of getting the job done faster than others. And then do it!
  9. Search and find the tricks that make the task go much faster. And then do it!
  10. Divide the task into three steps. You'll see the end sooner. And then do it!
  11. Keep a digital diary, on your computer, on your smartphone or with a dictation machine. Hear that more often. And you realize how pathetic your excuses are. And then do it!
  12. Add ten times the phrase "When I'm done with this, I'll do 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10..." And then do it!
  13. Search for fellow sufferers. Make fun of their procrastination inside. And then do it!
  14. Declare a day or weekend as Power Day or Power Weekend. And then do it!
  15. Look at the last project you messed up or almost messed up or which you could have done much better. Then realize what you'll get if you screw up again. And then do it!
  16. Define baby's steps and laugh spherically already during the planning that this must be so elementary. And then do it!
  17. Divide your day into shifts. One shift is two times an hour and a half. Then three to four shifts a day can be applied if necessary. And then do it!
